welcome to Diamond E...

Established in January of 2003, we specialize in breeding the finest quarter horses in Riata, to compete in western events, primarily barrel racing and roping, although we do try to stay competitive in the reining and cutting arenas as well. Located in northern Nevada, DEQH is surrounded by sagebrush seas and spectacular mountain ranges, in the heart of cowboy country!

June News:
With 95% of our foal crop on the ground, DEQH looks to be having a great year! We're going to try to focus more on the speed and cow side of western, with some stock horse racing as well, so over time we will be downsizing our english stock. If there is a horse you've been interested in for some time, please let us know, we may be able to work something out!

At the moment, Diamond E has over 10 horses for sale. If you're interested, email us for details. These are primarily DEQH bred speed horses, but there's something for everyone's focus!

Please welcome our newest addition, a paint gelding named Baptism By Fire. Be looking for him on the barrel circuit next summer!

Is there a diamond in your barn?

Now the ole Double Diamond
lay out east of Du Bois,
in the land of the buffalo.
And the auctioners gavel,
how it rapt and it rattled,
as I watched the ole Double Diamond go.

Won't you listen to the wind;
mother natures violin.

When I first hired on at the ole Double Diamond,
I was a damn poor excuse for a man.
Never learned how to aim when the spirit was tamed,
couldn't see all the cards in my hand

And the wind whipped the granite above me,
blew the tumbleweeds clean threw my soul.

Well I fought a winters, and I busted her horses,
and I took more than I thought I could stand.
But the battles with mountains and cattle,
seem to bring out the best in a man.

Guess a sailor, he needs an ocean,
and momma, her babies to hold.
And I need the hills of Wyoming,
in the land of the buffalo

Now shes' sellin out,
I'm moving on,
but I'm leavin with more than I came.
'Cause I've got this saddle, and it ain't for sale,
and I got this song to sing.
Find a new range to ride, new knots to tie,
In a country where cowboys are king.

I turn my tail to the wind and the ole Double Diamond,
And dissapear into the sage.
